If a draft were to be enacted, would scientists and engineers be drafted as soldiers?

I am not talking about government research scientists and engineers, but those who work in the private industry. Seeing as it would take too much time and money to train them and to keep them up with the technological innovative pace of the government, wouldn't they just be drafted as soldiers rather than as scientists and engineers for the government?
