1997 sebring i need help please?

hey i have a 1997 sebring and the only way the car will start is if i spray started fluid in the car and then after it starts ir runs fine until i shut it off then i have to spray more for the car to start again what could be the reason for that i dont think its the fuel pump is it because after the car starts it runs fine hel p me please
