Is this a fender stratocaster?

It's confusing me. On the head it reads fender stratocaster, but on the back of the body on a metal piece it reads squier. Is this squier piece just a custom part put on, or is this a squier strat? The only squier strats I've found have read squier strat on the head whereas this reads fender stratocaster on the head. Help ASAP!!
